Human anatomy has attracted interest among all scientists especially the balance and wonder connected with the working of each organ and of course the speed. However one organ which is obviously the most studied about is the eye. Now it has caught the attention of electronic researchers who, inspired by the human anatomy, have created the world's first curved electronic "eye" camera. It has the size and shape of a human eye, which enables the device to take distortion-free images in the same principle as the eye sees clear images. The device has a network of silicon detectors which is weaved into a flexible mesh. It might lead to a new generation of digital and video cameras. Now on their way are many other other potential applications, including a thin, pliable monitor to detect electrical signals traveling across the undulating surface of the human brain. This means that the new development may actually help us understand more of this complex structure called the Brain which does thinks that nothing created by man so far could accomplish. Coming back to the camera it might also provide a way to the development of artificial electronic retinas that could one day help restore sight as claimed by the researchers. Obviously a curved array of detectors which resembles the shape of the eye will be much better suited for use as retinal implants since it gives the same structural characteristics.
