Beijing Olympics 08 --- MinD BloWinG !!!!!!!!

I have no words to mention about the Beijing Olympics... It was Marvelous.. Spectacular..!!!

To everyone's surprise the host country itself topped and became the best performer... Followed by the USA..

USA were in front if the number of medals were considered... They won a whopping 11o medals.. China could make exactly 100 of them..

But at the end of the day, it was China that converted 51 out of their 100 medals into Gold which was always needed to become the top performer.. USA could just clinch 36 Gold Medals out of their 110 Medals..

Surprisingly the women won more medals for China than the men.. The women won a total of 52 medals whereas the men could make only 47 medals.. So never say Men are stronger than women..!!!!

While in the USA, both men and women won equal no. of medals.. Each making a total of 53 medals...

ICC Champions Trophy???

Just sometime back I was watching the CNN news channel.. The main sports news was that the ICC Champions Trophy is not gonna happen as per date.. Its postponed and wont happen very soon... The actual date for the tournament was Sep12th.. but then not now.. No dates have been confirmed for the Champions trophy.. I guezz the reason for postponement was due to some insecurity in Pakistan which was the decided venue.. Anyways am a bit sad... Well this whole week was kinda hectic for me.. So its always necessary to stay cool.. Its always better to soothe your body to keep away all these tensions.. So making a soup is always interesting and helps your mind and body to relax..

Here is my soothing soup for all my busy friends..

Turkish Tomato Soup

Things you will need to make this soup a soothing one....
> 1 tbl spoon olive oil
> 1 tbl spoon cornflour
> 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
> 500g tomatoes, skinned and chopped
> 1 1/4 tomato juice
> 155ml natural yogurt
> Green pepper, seeded and sliced
> 2 pitta breads, toasted and diced
> Salt and pepper to taste

STEp1 -- Heat the oil in a pan, add the garlic and fry for a minute. Add the tomatoes and cook for 2-3 minutes. Add the tomato juice with seasoning, and cook for 10 minutes.
STEp2 -- Blend the cornflour with 2/3 cup water, stir into the soup and simmer, stirring for 2 more minutes
STEp3 -- Spoon the soup into warmed bowls, swirl some of the yogurt into each portion and top with green pepper. Serve the pitta bread separately..

The Soup Expert....

Check out this mouth-watering soup..
Its the Red Pepper Soup..

Things you will need to make it...
> 4 red peppers, halved, cored and seeded
> 4 tomatoes, skinned and seeded
> 625ml vegetable stock or water
> 1 tablespoon oil
> 1 clove garlic, chopped
> 1 onion, chopped
> 2 teaspoons paprika
> Salt to taste
> Chives to garnish

STEP 1 - Lay the pepper halves, rounded side up, on a grill pan and grill for 8 - 10 minutes until charred. Peel off the skins under cold running water and chop the flesh roughly.
STEP 2 - Heat the oil in a pan, add the onion and garlic and fry gently until softened. Add the paprika and cook gently for 30 seconds. Stir in the tomatoes and stock. Transfer to a blender or food processor, add the red peppers and blend until smooth.
STEP 3 - Season, heat through, then pour into individual bowls. Garnish with chives.

Pour in a few tablespoons of thick sour cream if you really want it.. But if you are diet conscious better avoid it..
It serves 4.. So better dont drink the whole thing.. It will increase your calories 4 sure.. Careful..!!!

Holiday is a joyous time all of us look forward to. I’ve loved all holidays because it gives me time to spend time with my family and of course visit places I’ve always wanted to. Getting my own card

It was one year since I got my job and I still didn’t own a card, I mean a credit card. Well it does seem funny when so people younger than me and with no job to boast of have one of their own. It was more like I didn’t want to waste time getting one. And that’s when Rusty showed me a way out. He gave me this place where I could apply for any credit card and get it done in short time. Making my Home Better

After my grandmother's demise I decided to move over to my grandparents' house to re-live those sweet memories I had of spending my time there with my siblings and cousins. And so of course this time when I wanted to visit the country again this was one I looked forward to. But I guess I was too late. There was none left when I got back now. Of course there were another set of taxis now, white cabs with yellow nameplates, calling themselves 'call taxis'. But they could never match the previous ones. I miss the Taxis and my friends in them.

In this time when every woman is considering her contemporary her greatest enemy and back-biting them we have an exception. Competing with other actresses is not what American actress Jessica Alba has in mind. On the contrary she wants them all to stand together and seek equality with their male counterparts. Jessica has now reached that pinnacle as an actress where she is now at par with the best in the industry. She competes for the top spots along with fellow mates Eva Mendes, Cameroon Diaz and Katie Hudson. But that's not how she considers them. Instead of feeling threatened by her counterparts, she is persuading them to stand up and demand equal treatment as normally accustomed to male actors especially the same pay that they are privy to. She knows that there are "a lot more men making a lot more money" than women in this industry. However she feels that there are many among the actresses "who can do that the better". She does not believe in being competitive since she feels it "defeats the whole female movement". Instead she was quoted as wanting to be "encouraging" to her girlfriends.

World's best Airport

This survey is conducted by Skytrax, a UK-based consultancy, every year collecting details by over 8 million passengers who fill up the questionnaire over a long ten month period. The airports are judged based on more than 40 categories and then ranked with the main points being given for staff courtesy and baggage delivery and of course how they feel during the wait times. The efficiency and comfort of Asiuan airports showed in the list when the second and third spots were respectively taken by the airports in Singapore and Seoul, South Korea.
